Although it is nice to have a quick run through of the alphabet and pinyin sounds, I found that it was too brief for me ( a humble beginner). Is it possible that there could be more exercises and explanations regarding pinyin in the future?
Whenever I look online for something that will break down pinyin sounds I run into the same chart over and over again that has a list of sounds with no explanation whatsoever regarding pronunciation.
Even a short section on how to pronounce sounds that are different or difficult for English speakers to pronounce (with some examples for each sound)would be great.
If that is not feasible are there any online resources that you can recommend for learning and mastering the different pinyin sounds? I know it will take a lot of practice but I want to make sure that I am learning the right pronunciation to begin with.

We are still currently under development at the moment but we do plan to add more detailed explanations about the pinyin. If your interested it may be possible to arrange a skype chat to help you with this.
Pronunciation is very difficult with the chinese langauage. I understand this quite well your not the only one who has problems.

That would be great if there would be more detailed explanations regarding pinyin pronunciation. Regarding skype (which I have ) and a practice chat - does that mean someone would volunteer to do a practice session or some pointers with me? If that is possible how would I find out the details? ( from the forums, a shoutbox on my page or is there a message/inbox part on each member's page?). Also, what time zone are you all in? I am in the US on Eastern Standard Time which is 12-13 hours behind China's time.

HI, Meir,

We can arrange a free session (30 mins) for you. Since you are a beginner, it maybe better if we can point a Chinese teacher who can speak English, like myself. I am located in UK, which is 7 hours behind China, so 5-6 hours ahead of your place. Please let me know what you think, thanks.

Thanks so much. That would be very welcome.

Thanks. That would be very welcome. Who would I contact to set up such a session? Things will be very hectic for me for the next week but after that I should be able to get a much needed session in.

P.S. Sigh...I must have hit tab at some point. Is there a way to delete my previous post that is taking up so much room?
